To achieve the 2050 net zero emissions goal, Bank SinoPac announced on 4/12 its membership in the Taiwan Net Zero Emissions Association(TNZEA). Chairman TSAO Wei-Thyr pledged to uphold the right principles and lead more enterprises forward to achieve the net zero target. Ambassador Eugene Chien, Chairman of the TNZEA, commended Bank SinoPac's determination and looks forward to continuing to work hand in hand with more members to create a better life.

The TNZEA was jointly established by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy(TAISE) and domestic enterprises in 2021, with 32 current members. The association serves as a platform connecting industry, government, and academia, acting as a bridge between businesses and the government to assist corporate members in achieving net zero emissions and facilitating Taiwan's transition to net zero.

Bank SinoPac is a leading domestic financial institution committed to green energy financing. It currently holds the largest market share in solar energy financing. In addition to providing financing services, the bank also offers services such as carbon footprint assessment, ESG sustainable-linked loans, and pioneered the "Green Electricity Trust Trading Platform," contributing to Taiwan's net zero goals through sustainable finance. Moreover, Bank SinoPac practices green operations by implementing e-Notes and palm vein authentication ATMs, promoting "paperless green financial counters," resulting in a yearly reduction of paper usage equivalent to approximately two Taipei 101 buildings in height.

Chairman TSAO Wei-Thyr emphasized that Bank SinoPac adheres to the basic principles of "efficiency" and "sustainability" and has been committed to sustainable operations for over a decade. He believes that doing the right thing will lead to the right outcome, and he hopes that in the future, the bank will not only lead as a pioneer in the green finance market but also act as a cheerleader for corporate net zero transformation, leading companies toward achieving Bank SinoPac's cultural vision of "Together, a better life."

Chairman Eugene Chien mentioned that since its establishment, the TNZEA has been continuously assisting its members in integrating financial resources. Through consultations, education, and active participation, it is committed to achieving the goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and promoting and advocating for active carbon reduction to encourage all sectors of Taiwan to fulfill their shared responsibility of protecting the Earth's environment. They look forward to more corporate members continuing to invest and progress together.

Focusing on key net zero issues, the TNZEA holds seminars, forums, general lectures, or workshops every year to help its members grasp the latest professional techniques. They also invite experts and scholars to integrate interdisciplinary resources, conduct research on industry net zero transformation for members, and hold closed-door strategic discussions on specific topics. Expanding knowledge and learning perspectives, they also invite members to visit international advanced net zero technology companies and attend international conferences.
